Devlog 3: Frame to Frame

Frame to Frame
Background:
I made frames for some of the objects shown inside my map. The two items that I picked to make frame to frame animation for was the file cabinet and the desk light. I picked these objects because I think it will add to the storyline and provide more chances to interact inside the game.
Animation 1:
The desk lamp animation is a simple but tricky at the same time. I wanted this animation to be simple but slightly dramatic to add more of a scene to the room. The animation consists of the lamp light blinking and able to move downwards while still blinking. The trickiest part of this animation was capturing the angles of the lamp moving down without messing up its shape. I used a lot of the lasso selection to move the lamp head into the direction I wanted it in order to complete the animation correctly.
Animation 2:
The file cabinet animation was the hardest one out of the two because of how I wanted the cabinets to open and being able to make the animation flow smoothly without it being too much. This animation I wanted the cabinets to open like the character is opening it to find files. It consists of the top and bottom drawer opening then at the bottom cabinet a spider comes out slowly.
I think the trickiest part of this animation was not making it boring by just opening the cabinet drawers. I also wanted this item to add detail specifically with the spider helps implies that this file cabinet is old or has not been opened in while, Again, I wanted to add more effort by adding something I think that will add more to the item than something expected. I used many techniques to achieve this animation such as the rectangle selection (moving drawers around), paint bucket tool (filling in the square easier), and the Stroke tool (keep lines straight and neat).
