Devlog 2: Setting

The setting I decided on was multiple rooms on one map, there is a detective office, storage/evidence room in the back, then an outside area with a bench, tree and grass. I have an idea for my game, but it might change as I bring my game more to life. This is just a rough draft so far but many of the basic designs for the map are complete. I will add more soon, so look out for new updates. I am currenting working on new possible animation and interactive plans for my game for each room. I also made a new character for my game, his name is Detective Kittenburg and he is a really busy cat. I made many major updates to my room character and walkability for my room. I still need to improve on many things but so far, I am happy and satisfied with my progress so far with this project.

I am very excited most about the design for my map and how will my character interact with it in order to do gameplay. I am also very excited to add more objects to rooms and maybe even hidden items.

I struggled with how I wanted my map to look because when I do it on Piskel, sometimes my ideas did not work, and I had to find other ways to fulfill my vision for my game. Even though I struggle, I still made it work and learned about how to draw and build scenes using different platforms.

I made some sketches on possible animation that I want to put inside the game play…. (this is not all of them but a few examples)
